WARNING LABEL/PARTS PER MILLION

it’s time to wise-up
to the dumb-down
before we learn too late
what was lost
but sadly went
little missed

from the cradle got us
by the sweet-tooth do they
or maybe we’re too
anesthetized by
immediate gratification
to notice the insult to
what’s left of our
artificial intelligence
when we were too
preoccupied
w/ “reality” television
and other bright shiny objects

?where’s the surgeon general
when the coffee’s too hot¿
sting of sand
kicked in our eyes
no crueler lesson
to be taught
but nothin’ hurts
quite like the truth

though we can’t return
what was bought
to reclaim the wealth
that paid the cost
we may still have time
to write the book within
