Religion
By: LivingDeadGirl

Religion isn’t just about God or gods.
It isn’t Sunday morning pep talks
or inhaling incense until your nose burns.
It isn’t raging river baptisms or
ceremonies to induct Goths into cults.
Instead, religion is a sit-down
one-on-one hashing out of the perfect human
and creating allegiances to that one.
G/god is what we make of him—her—them.
They are everything we aspire to be,
unique to each and every person
in this miserable, pathetic world.
Humans want more and achieve less
thus creating a being to worship that has it all.
Every god has a love-hate relationship
with the deplorable creatures that idolize them.
